Is there any pre-registration?
No, it is a one-step process, starting October 1, 2017 but please review the Entry Instructions before starting the Entry process.

What does the entry fee include?
For all entrants: (1) professional photography, (2) inclusion in an online catalogue, and (3) return shipping. If your work is selected for the exhibition, you will receive a CARFAC artist’s fee, a full colour print catalogue, and return shipping at the end of the exhibition—provided you maintain your CBBAG membership until that time.

All entries must be completed after January 1, 2015.*
*New & Revised December 2017

My scrolls are very long and usually hang on walls. Will they meet the Conditions for Entry?
If, when they are rolled up, they don’t exceed the maximum size specified in the Conditions for Entry, they will be accepted for jurying. Each venue will decide how to display scrolls in the space available to them.

What constitutes a work being “published?” Does it include advertising a book published by a small press before it is seen by the Art of the Book jury?
The curators wish to make sure, to the extent practically possible, that the anonymity of each entry is maintained until a work has been juried. This is to ensure that the jurying process is protected from bias. In its most basic meaning, ‘published’ means ‘to make generally known’. Therefore advertisements, whether printed, distributed electronically either through the web or social media, all constitute being published.

Does blogging about a book go against the spirit of the guideline that says entries should not be previously exhibited or published in any form?
For the same reason as above, we ask that entrants postpone blogging about their entry until jurying is complete.

Are collaborations allowed? If so, should collaborators be CBBAG members?
Yes in both cases.

If someone else contributes work to the book, where should that information be stated?
You should add this to the Submissions Form which you will receive after you have registered.

Can I enter the same work in more than one category?
No, a work can only be entered in one category.

After registering, can I change the category I chose for my work?
Yes, this can be done at the time you submit your work for jurying.
